The Biery-Witt Center (BWC), also known as the Mt. Crested Butte Performing Arts Center (MCBPAC), is pleased to announce that $9.4 million were raised in 2015 to further the effort to build a performing arts and events center in Mt. Crested Butte. This brings the total value committed to the project to $24.1 million. The BWC has a current estimated project value of $27 million.
In response to this campaign success and realizing that project costs continue in an upward trajectory, the MCBPAC Board of Directors will now begin preparations for re-entering the architectural planning and costing process. It is anticipated that the final architectural design process will begin as soon as an additional $900,000 is committed to the project.
“The fundraising momentum for the Biery-Witt Center remains strong. 2015 was a successful year, and we are looking forward to 2016. We are extremely grateful for the continued community support. Based on the needs of our community, it is important that we continue to move quickly to raise the remaining funds,” commented Co-President Tom Biery.
